One of my favorite Arizona characters is about to get some major attention on TV. Cody Lundin, aka Abo Dude, is co-hosting a Discovery Channel show called Dual Survival. The premise sounds a bit like a survival version of The Odd Couple: Cody’s naturalist survival style is paired with the techniques of military-trained Dave Canterbury.
The channel will air 10 episodes starting on Friday, June 11 at 10 p.m. Cody promises some far-flung locations across the world, and lots of cool terrain, flora and fauna. I don’t have much else to say, except that Cody is a super-knowledgeable outdoor survival expert. I’m hoping to one day check out one of the classes at his Aboriginal Living Skills School.
He’s a very personable character, too, which should make Dual Survival a ton of fun to watch. Of course, I don’t have cable – which some people would actually consider aboriginal living! But hey, that’s what Hulu.com and DVDs are for. I’m betting that Cody will provide a much more authentic survival-watching experience than certain other survival show hosts. It won’t be Survivor played out by actual experts – viewers will glean some real tips.
Definitely tune in to Dual Survival to see a real Arizona dude show how to handle things when your world goes pear-shaped.
