5 Things I Miss While Traveling

Traveling is awesome – but there are some things about home that I always miss. Here are the 5 things I can’t wait to get back to.

Travel-Writing Cliche – “Exploring”

I hate it when my blog reads like some half-baked travel brochure. I’m trying really hard to watch what I say here to guard against it. One of the sacrifices to the cause: the word “explore.”

Best of Travel, Adventure and Blogging 2010

It’s time for Wandering Justin’s Best of Travel, Adventure and Blogging in 2010. See who made the list!

“Heading There” Bloggers Show Best of 2010 Trips

My buddies over at the Heading There blog have collected some of their Best of 2010 review of cool trips. Yes, I’m in there. Besides my trip to Landmannalaugar, you’ll also get some Easter Island action, ancient ruins in Chiapas, monkeys and a slow boat to China. How cool does that all sound?

My cynical city friends love saying “If the outdoors are so great, why did we invent the indoors?” I figured nobody could answer that better than Addy, the backpacking superhero behind DressedInDirt.com!

Don’t Call Me a “Consumer”

I hate being called a “consumer.” It connotes greed, sloth and corpulence. Businesses should think of their customers according to the products and services they offer, not one hideous catch-all word.

Guest Post – Choice Bits of Aussie Slang

If you’re headed to Australia, make your trip by mastering some key Aussie slang. Here are some tips to take you beyond “G’Day” and “mate.”

A Quick Note to Any Mutual Readers

This is a quick update for fellow bloggers – you might notice my Links page doesn’t list you. That’s not because I’m not feeling the love anymore, rest assured! I just have some construction going on. This is mostly the result of upgrading (or “Upgrayding,” as they might’ve said in the movie Idiocracy) to the latest version of the Primepress theme.
I plan to restore normal linkage as soon as my meager HTML and CSS skills allow.

Help Needed for Local Mountain Bike Scene

Phoenix has some of the country’s best mountain biking. But you’d never know it from the golf, baseball and shopping-fixated local media. I have a plan to get mountain bikers they need to get engaged, network and become a local force.
